Happy 2 month birthday to Garyn Riley!
And back to work for me! I am totally okay with working, but I would be okay with staying at home too! Monday (the 9th) was my first day back to work...I spent the whole day trying to figure out what's going on with my new nurses, making my to do list of projects to start, and checking e-mails. I don't feel like I accomplished anything!
Luckily, though, I didn't have to worry about my kids because I have an awesome babysitter. Garyn did great, but Ellie had one of her moody days.
Ellie has started the potty training process! It is an extremely exciting thought that I might just have one child in diapers soon, but I do need some advice. My daughter will tell us that she has to potty...after the fact. But the real kicker is that she only does that at home! When we go out in public she will tell us and not have just gone in her diaper/pull-up. I have tried to do the really thick training panties, but as soon as I put them on her I have to clean up big messes. I know that sometimes it is just best to grin and bear it, but Garyn tends to keep me tied up a lot! We are not pushing really hard on this because she is still pretty young, but if any of you have any tricks of the trade that might help speed things along that would be great!

I put some of Aidan's favorite snacks and candies (I know, and I am in the dental field, but it was totally worth it for the potty training process) in a bag. If he went pee-pee in the potty he got to pick one, and if he went poo-poo he got to pick two. I tried to do some sugar free candies and some sugar free gum and easy things like baggies with marshmellows and m&m's in them. It worked like a charm with him. I put the big boy undies on him and told him that there were no more pull-ups and off we went. I do admit I had to change a few messes, but it didn't last long! I just took him to the potty all the time. He was completely trained at 2 years 5 months. That's just what I did, other mothers do some good stuff too! Unfortunetly you just have to find what works for her!
Hmmm - this one is tricky. I did the M&M thing similar to Gena with Kinsey. With Kimmie, we jsut went pantless for 3 days at home, set a timer, and went to the bathroom every 15 minutes. I gave her a treat when she went. It is much easier with one though. I have a very good cousin who swears by waiting until they are 3, and then it takes only a few days - and she is right! Whatever you choose, know that by the time school begins, this will all be a distant memory:)
